Nagasaki International University was happy to welcome Joy Sakurai of the American Consulate in Fukuoka to give a guest lecture in English to our students on the topic of Global Leadership. Ms Sakurai gave an overview of Japan-America relations and the role of the consulate. She also provided examples of programs to promote cultural understanding as well as student internship opportunities at the consulate. The second half of the talk covered issues related to study abroad and how it provides a valuable opportunity to develop the skills required of future global leaders.
